Northvale, New Jersey: RAB Lighting, a leading manufacturer of indoor and outdoor LED lighting and controls, donated high-efficiency floodlights to illuminate the Chris Kyle Memorial Plaza located in Odessa, TX. The donation is part of the company’s Monument Lighting Program, a community outreach initiative that provides municipalities and non-profit organizations with an affordable way to upgrade to new energy-saving, low-maintenance LED.
RAB donates fixtures to light monuments, memorials, signs and other structures that honor the people who serve or have served the country or local community. This includes sites that pay tribute to military service men and woman, police, firefighters, EMS and educators.
The 2,800-square-foot Chris Kyle Memorial Plaza sits on a 48,000-pound granite and limestone base and includes a bronze statue of Kyle. The memorial sits 100 yards off the main highway between Midland and Odessa, Texas.
RAB’s LED landscape floodlights provide veterans and their families receiving care at the VA medical center adjacent to the plaza the ability to clearly see the sculpture in the plaza at night.
“In designing the site, we wanted to illuminate the sculpture of Chris and the flagpoles, with some spill over light into the plaza,” said Jonathon Pruessner, Landscape Architect for KDC Associates. “Thanks to RAB’s fixtures and complimentary lighting design services the end result is a beautifully lit sculpture and memorial plaza that attracts visitors from sun up to well past sunset.”
