See the Latest in State of the Art X-Ray Inspection Systems at Booth 1645

San Carlos, California (PRWEB) January 05, 2018

Peco InspX is pleased to announce its presence at the 2018 Northwest Food Processors Association Trade Show in Booth 1645. Peco InspX will be demonstrating its new SHIELD bulk x-ray inspection systems. These new bulk inspection systems represent the state of the art in x-ray inspection of loose products such dried beans, vegetables and nuts.

The bulk SHIELD Allegro features a 510 mm wide conveyor and the wider SHIELD Allegro wide uses an 800 mm wide conveyor. What really distinguishes these systems is their mechanical design to ensure consistent, high quality inspections. Both systems feature specialized infeed flow management features and easy to clean conveyors. Furthermore, the systems have specialized ejection logic to minimize the ejection of good product. Both the Allegro and Allegro wide can operate at inspection rates exceeding 30,000 pounds per hour.

“Bulk applications can be very challenging due to variabilities in product presentation that can affect both the inspection and ejection process. Our new SHIELD bulk inspection systems are designed to provide the user with a easy to use platform that continually adjusts the software inspection settings to provide optimum results,” remarked Peco InspX CEO Rich Cisek.

“We eagerly invite anyone interested in bulk X-Ray inspection to come visit our bulk demonstration facility in Modesto, CA where we can run any product and test many operational scenarios. Another advantage of this facility is that we can give customers insight into real world detection capabilities for challenging contaminants such as low density stones,” continued Cisek.

Peco InspX will again be exhibiting this year with the Industrial Sales Company, who will be exhibiting at the show in booth 1645. Industrial Sales sells and services Peco InspX products through their offices in Portland and Seattle.

Thai singles and everyone looking to meet them can now do so with the help of a brand-new dating site that goes by the name of Thai Mixer.

MIAMI (PRWEB) January 05, 2018

A somewhat larger influx of the Thai population to the USA has begun a few decades ago and it brought Thailand’s specific cultural influence as well. On the other hand, Thai’s cultural presence is in reality reciprocal with an actual number of Thais living in the states, but it’s still quite visible. And regardless of the numbers and dry statistics, the fact is Thai singles, together with their exotic culture, are often perceived as attractive and desirable in the eyes of Western folk. Therefore, we can freely say that the need for online Thai Dating definitely exists.

According to multiple sources, Los Angeles, California is the city with the biggest Thai population in the entire country, but there are several other states that also have significant numbers of Thai residents. On the other hand, the American Community Survey from 2009 claims that 304,160 US residents spoke up of themselves as Thais, while New York City becomes one of the most popular permanent destinations for Thai people at the moment.

This leads us to the conclusion that Thai Mixer arrives at a perfect time. Namely, this Thai dating site allows everyone to get in touch with Thai singles countrywide in an easy and comfortable way. On the other hand, this sleek dating service is devised with a mission to provide everyone with equal chances for finding dates and love, and as such is a great starting point for people who love everything Thai.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (PRWEB) January 08, 2018

Dr. Matt Nejad and Dr. Kyle Stanley of Helm Nejad Stanley Dentistry have been appointed to the Cosmetic and Reconstructive Support Medical Advisory Council of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). This is a highly-esteemed honor that is reserved for the most qualified and respected doctors. The program works in collaboration with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and benefits domestic abuse survivors who would otherwise be unable to afford such crucial reconstructive care.

“Dr. Stanley and I are honored to have been chosen as the only two dentists on the NCADV Advisory Council,” stated leading cosmetic dentist Matt Nejad of Helm Nejad Stanley Dentistry. "Being part of a team of experts committed to helping survivors of domestic abuse recover and move on with their lives is a real reward for us. This is an excellent opportunity to give back and make dramatic improvements in the lives of people in real need. We are very excited to provide our expertise in dental rehabilitation, and in some cases, dental surgery and full-mouth reconstruction."

The NCADV is the voice of victims and survivors who have experienced domestic abuse. The coalition is a nationally recognized voice for "zero tolerance" for domestic violence. To drive this movement, the NCADV believes in taking steps to affect public policy, helping others understand the impact of domestic violence and providing programs and educational opportunities to promote awareness of domestic abuse.

As newly elected members of the council, Drs. Nejad and Stanley will help promote the Cosmetic & Reconstructive Support (CRS) Program™ of the NCADV, which offers survivors the needed cosmetic surgery or reconstructive surgeries to repair head, mouth, neck and facial injuries caused by an abusive partner.

Domestic abuse and violence, including physical assault, battery and murder, continues to be a serious problem in the United States. According to NCADV statistics, one person every three seconds is physically abused by an intimate partner, which equates to more than 10 million Americans. Furthermore, it is estimated that fully one in four of women and one in eight men have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner. The Cosmetic & Reconstructive Support (CRS) Program™ of NCADV works with facial plastic surgeons from across the country who volunteer their services to assist survivors in removing the physical scars of abuse.

Tech Devices Negatively Impacting Conversation and Social Interaction, Children Spending Too Much Time Using Them, According to ASHA Survey of 2017 Attendees

ROCKVILLE, Md. (PRWEB) January 08, 2018

As the newest technology innovations and gadgets are unveiled this week at CES 2018, survey results of a group of 2017 attendees released today by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) reveal that 87% believe children are spending too much time with technology, and 74% feel today’s popular technology is negatively impacting conversation and social interaction.

Additionally, 82% of those CES 2017 attendees surveyed by ASHA said the industry is not doing enough to educate the public about responsible usage, and 80% think the potential impact of technology should be considered as part of a product’s or app’s development process.

The data represent results of a survey completed at CES 2017 by 218 attendees. Respondents included executives and staff involved in product development, product design, marketing and sales, information technology, health care, education, and other areas of the industry.

With the unprecedented technological advancement that has taken place have come individual and societal benefits. Increasingly, however, reports indicate growing interest in more moderate use of popular technology. What is so striking about the results of ASHA’s poll is that some working in the technology industry appear to feel the same way.

Polling of more than 500 ASHA members—audiologists and speech-language pathologists—in 2016 revealed specific concerns about the impact of technology overload on communication. Audiologists indicted their chief concern was that repeated misuse of personal tech at loud volumes could damage children’s hearing. Meanwhile, speech-language pathologists said their primary concern was that excessive device use is replacing conversation and human interaction. If left unaddressed, 68 percent of the communication experts polled said they foresee widespread tech overuse as a communication “time bomb” that could irreparably damage the communication skills of future generations.

This “time bomb” encompasses speech and language development, which is dependent on adequate time for verbal exchange such as listening, talking, reading, and interacting with parents—interactions that technology cannot duplicate—and hearing loss, which impedes communication as well as academic, social, and vocational success.

Yet, in this same poll, experts said the solutions do not need to be draconian: 70% said their number one piece of advice is to set reasonable parameters and model safe usage, and less than 2% advocated for tightly restricting children’s tech use. In response to this polling, ASHA has launched a new Healthy Communication and Popular Technology Initiative and is actively seeking collaborating organizations, both inside and outside the tech industry.

There is strong precedent for this type of collaboration. Consumer Technology Association CEO Gary Shapiro teamed with ASHA to offer some “Digital Diet” advice in the past. Others, inside and outside the technology industry, have spoken on the issue as well. They include Jony Ive, chief design officer for Apple, and Tristan Harris, a former product manager at Google who now speaks out against the danger of what he terms “tech addiction.”

For tips on finding healthy balance, view ASHA’s updated Digital Diet here.

About the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 191,500 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students. Audiologists specialize in preventing and assessing hearing and balance disorders as well as providing audiologic treatment, including hearing aids. Speech-language pathologists identify, assess, and treat speech and language problems, including swallowing disorders. http://www.asha.org

Joint Venture, Pebb Yale Truss Lending, Provides Competitively Priced Non-Recourse Financing To Investor Condominium Buyers in South Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla. (PRWEB) January 08, 2018

Three leading South Florida real estate-related companies with robust real estate experience, deep capital markets relationships, and a proven track record of originating and servicing end-user loans have joined forces to provide senior mortgage loans to non-traditional real estate buyers. The joint venture, named Pebb Yale Truss Lending, (“PYT Lending”) is comprised of Pebb Capital, GPC Truss, and Yale Mortgage. Already the enterprise has commenced loan closings for approximately 20% of the units at Echo Brickell, a luxury condominium development by Property Markets Group (“PMG”) in Miami, FL.

The three real estate firms formed PYT Lending as a specialty lending company to fill a void in the market: reasonably priced term lending to investor buyers of condominium units. In particular, the program provides a much-needed alternative for foreign nationals who often encounter intense scrutiny, an onerous application process, and high interest rates. PYT Lending works directly with condominium developers by offering non-recourse loan options to condo buyers with existing contracts as well as to prospective buyers. The loans are customizable, with flexible terms (one-, three- and five-year options) and a non-intrusive application process. Perhaps most important, PYT Lending offers competitive rates, as low as 6.95% for a three-year loan. Buyers close upon building completion when they take delivery of their units.

For developers, PYT Lending’s alternative lending platform serves as an important marketing tool to accelerate sales velocity and provides total certainty of closing. In addition, developers can take advantage of PYT Lending’s competitive rates and terms to finance their existing unsold inventory.

“PYT has been instrumental to our closing process as they provided financing to our end users in an expedited fashion. I honestly can say, I have never experienced such a seamless process with a financial institution before,” said PMG principal Ryan Shear.

“We are very excited to deliver this lending product and provide clearly-needed liquidity for contract purchasers of Miami’s many condominium buildings being delivered over the next few years,” said Pebb Capital Managing Principal and PYT Lending founder, Todd Rosenberg. “Current lending options for non-traditional condominium buyers are limited to the point of being prohibitive. Our goal is to provide our clients and borrowers with the flexibility they need to accomplish their investing goals by offering reasonably-priced loans, with flexible terms and a commitment that we’ll be there at the closing table.”

“As a South American family, we are well-aware of the challenges foreign nationals encounter when financing their investment purchases,” adds GPC Truss partner Jonathan Ghitis. “We want South Florida to continue to be perceived as a fantastic place to do business for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals alike. PYT Lending fulfills a crucial need in the market for anyone looking to purchase investment properties."

Woody Kahn, CEO of Yale Mortgage Funding, likewise recognized how PYT Lending can meet a critical need in the market. “We have demonstrated our proven execution capabilities over the last 20 years as a lender and servicer, originating and securitizing over a billion dollars of mortgages nationally and in the South Florida area,” he said. “We are thrilled to bring our expertise to this innovative platform that will have a significant impact on the market.”

While initially focused in South Florida, PYT plans to expand into other major markets nationwide.

New Soundwhich Technology Makes This Ground-Breaking Dream a Reality (Source: Varidada Inc)

SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) January 08, 2018

San Francisco-based music technology developer Varidada Inc stepped up to change history in 2017 when the team led a massive global campaign coded “Soundwhich” in an effort to build the world’s largest song database in the short time period of only 100 days. The campaign included the help of 100 musicians from across the world. Between September 2017 and December 2017, these 100 musicians joined forces to compose as much music as possible within the hundred-day time period. The result? The campaign ended with the composition of more than 100 billion unique songs!

This amazing feat was made possible through the use of a new concept called “musical guideline”. To be included in the Soundwhich campaign, each of the hundred musicians had to compose their instrument ingredients according to this musical guideline. The musical guideline is a set of parameters such as key, tempo, chords, and song structure. All instrument ingredients in the music guideline can be mixed together without additional coordination to form songs.

Artists now heralding Soundwhich as the future of music collaboration; however, Soundwhich’s creator Roger Chen takes the concept a step farther. Rather than just expecting Soundwhich to help musicians, Mr. Chen believes that it will affect the entire public.

With the use of video streaming and online advertising on the rise, the need for royalty-free music has been growing more and more every year. Mr. Chen explained that the technology used through Soundwhich can make the video process much easier by providing unique songs that are based on each brand’s specific needs. With its easy-to-use platform, Mr. Chen looks to Soundwhich as a new way to empower the public to create personalized songs rather than settling for mediocre tunes from a royalty-free music library.

If you’re interested in listening to some of the 100 billion songs composed through Soundwhich or want to create a custom song of your own, you can visit https://www.soundwhich.com

Pixel Film Studios, FCPX Plugin Developer, released FCPX LUT Cinematic Volume 4.

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (PRWEB) January 08, 2018

FCPX LUT Cinematic Volume 4 from Pixel Film Studios allows editors to quickly and easily add film color grades to footage. A LUT is a Lookup Table that contains a mathematical formula for modifying an image. The LUT changes every pixel’s color to the corresponding color indicated by the table. FCPX LUT Cinematic Volume 4 pack comes with 60 film-inspired CUBE LUT files which can be easily added to any media, and modified to the users liking.

The LUT changes every pixel’s color to the corresponding color indicated by the table. By manipulating each pixel, LUT’s can change each color range differently, giving the user more control over the look.

If the LUT doesn’t fully achieve the desired look, editors can use the built-in customization controls in the FCPX LUT Cinematic Volume 4 Loader to adjust the strength, contrast, brightness and saturation of their image. Users can also make further adjustments to color of the light, dark and mids.

CUBE LUT files are extremely versatile. With the FCPX LUT Cinematic Volume 4 Loader from Pixel Film Studios, editors can quickly and easily load a LUT file directly into Final Cut Pro X to color correct or grade their footage without having to use another software. Users can simply drop the loader on top of the footage and then, use the drop down menu to select or import a CUBE file.

Art and science to intersect with multimedia representation of bee pollination

DELAND, Fla. (PRWEB) January 09, 2018

Stetson University is a-buzz in anticipation of a new exhibit arriving in January that will submerge visitors in the life of bees. A Better Nectar, by Jessica Rath, is an immersive experience using sculpture, light, sound, photographs and watercolor to explore the bumblebee's journey. Co-hosted by the Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center and the Gillespie Museum, and co-sponsored by the University’s Artists and Lecture Series. the exhibit will be on display in both museums from Jan. 26 through March 3, including several events.

A multisensory installation based on Rath’s extensive research into communication between flowering plants and their pollinators, A Better Nectar, reveals to guests what life would be like as a bee. “There are thousands of species out there having a very different experience of our shared planet. I really want you to become a bee,” explains Rath. “The exhibition is meant to put us on a more level playing field with another being."

Rath creates an immersive experience using human-size sculptural forms, light and sound to explore how bumblebees learn and remember multisensory floral symbols to find a better nectar. The exhibit will be divided between Stetson University’s Hand Art Center and the Gillespie Museum, the first time the university has simultaneously displayed an exhibit in both museums. “a better nectar" was built on scientific research and interpretation through art. “It is a wonderful confluence for the exhibition to be shown in both the art and science museums on campus, to connect students to the creativity found in both disciplines. The pollinator garden just outside the door of Gillespie extends the kind of deep observation of other species that I was seeking while making this work," said Rath.

Schedule of events:

Science Café, “Bee Sensoria: Artists’ Perspective,” Wednesday, Jan. 24, 7 p.m.

Rath and composer and sound designer Robert Hoehn will explore the role scientific observation and data played in creating the “artist perspective” on the sensory experience of bees. They researched bee foraging patterns and bee-to-flower communication at the Leonard Bee Lab (University of Nevada, Reno) which translated into a “buzz pollinated,” seven-foot flower anther and a human-scaled bumblebee nest that emanates a six-part score and changes with a live NOAA weather feed.

Location: Gillespie Museum

Lecture with Jessica Rath and Robert Hoehn, Thursday, Jan. 25, 7-8 p.m.

Location: Dupont Ball Library

Opening Reception, Friday, Jan. 26, 6 p.m.

Location: Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center

About the exhibit:

The centerpiece of the exhibit “Resonant Nest,” a multi-sensory, human-scaled bumblebee nest that resonates human voice interpretations of bee communication composed by long-time collaborator Hoehn. “Bee Purple” features immersive light projections which emulate bees’ spectrally shifted experience of the color wavelengths that attract them to floral patterns and nectar. Hoehn explains, “Almost blind when they are still, bees experience vision while in motion. Green foliage of bushes, grass, leaves read as grey as they search for nectar and pollen sources. Since they notice more pattern change than overall shape, flowers are bright kaleidoscopic targets in the bees' rhythmically shifting world.”

On exhibit at the Gillespie is the seven-foot “Staminal Evolution,” a sculpture based on flowers that require “buzz pollination,” a process in which bees vibrate a certain frequency to open the flower and thus release its pollen. A research station at the Gillespie includes a gallery of digital images of Florida native pollinators, taken by Peter May, Ph.D., professor of Biology at Stetson; displays of native pollinating insects, assembled by Cynthia Bennington, Ph.D., professor of Biology at Stetson; and a seed library, from which visitors may “borrow” the seeds of native plants to sow at home.

At the adjacent Rinker Environmental Learning Center, visitors may tour the Volusia Sandhill Ecosystem, an urban reforestation project, to view and monitor native pollinators in the landscape. Bennington explains the connection between the art and science of this installation. “Jessica Rath’s work is a timely reminder of the importance of insects to plant reproduction, as habitat loss and degradation threaten native pollinator populations. The connection between a human-scaled stamen in the museum and the rich floral and pollinator diversity in the adjacent landscape draws attention to the growing body of work, including ours in the Volusia Sandhill, demonstrating that small gardens and habitat fragments can be important reservoirs for pollinator abundance and diversity.”

Jessica Rath teaches at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA and received her B.A. from University of Missouri and her M.F.A. from California Institute of the Arts. Her most recent awards include Mid-Career Fellowships from California Community Foundation (2014) and the City of Los Angeles (2013, COLA). In 2012-13 her exhibit take me to the apple, based on genetic work at Cornell University Agricultural Research Station, garnered reviews in Art in America, Artforum, Los Angeles Times, Bon Appetit, and Smithsonian Magazine. Her work is included in Center for Art and Environment Archive Collections at the Nevada Museum of Art.

Composer and sound designer Robert Hoehn received his BFA in Electro-Acoustic Composition from California Institute of the Arts in 1994 with additional studies at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford University and the Hartt School of Music at University of Hartford. Trained as a musician, composer and keyboardist, Hoehn creates music and sound for picture and builds interactive electronic sound systems for galleries, and experimental mechanical acoustical sound sculptures, most often exhibited in art and music festivals. In 2014, Hoehn created Wind Sound Sanctuary with funding from Burning Man Arts, a 50-foot playable pipe organ, windmill-driven with custom Aeolian harps.

BlueStar Introduces New French Door Refrigerator Design to its Award-Winning Line of Premium, Chef-Inspired Refrigeration

The New French Door Built-in Refrigerator Delivers Commercial-Level Performance & Cutting-Edge Design Plus Unmatched Customization

Blandon, Pa. (PRWEB) January 09, 2018

BlueStar®, manufacturer of high performance kitchen appliances for the home, is introducing a stunning new French Door model to its award-winning, built-in refrigeration line, bringing a new level of function and customization to home chefs.

The BlueStar® French Door refrigerator is the latest addition to a line that offers commercial styling and state-of-the-art engineering, designed and built exclusively by BlueStar® in the USA. The new French Door model is ideal for homeowners with tighter kitchen space.

With durable stainless steel interiors, dual compressors for enhanced food preservation and exceptionally roomy interiors, the BlueStar® Built-In Refrigeration line is made for serious cooking and entertaining. The refrigerator’s fully extending bottom shelf is designed to fit a full-size commercial sheet pan — as is the freezer shelf – that way, extra-large pans prepped with pastries or hors d'oeuvres can go straight from the refrigerator or freezer into an oversized BlueStar® oven, another brand hallmark. Since the interior is fully customizable, shelves and bins can be easily changed to fit any storage or entertaining need. When special occasions come around, the shelves are fully flexible to handle large food trays or oversized cakes. The refrigerator also features extra-large, fully-extending drawers with soft, self-close glides, making it easy to access items quickly and easily.

There is a dual compressor system – one for the fridge and another for the freezer – for optimum food preservation and advanced odor control. Two separate compressors mean the air stays chambered in the proper area so that the moist air stays in the refrigerator and doesn’t mix with the drier air of the freezer. The result: longer lasting, fresher tasting fresh and frozen foods.

The stainless steel not only adds a luxurious finish, but also helps temperatures stay more consistent. Rugged, commercial-style construction includes an articulating hinge that enables built-in or flush mounting. Dramatic, ramp-on LED lighting, which reflects beautifully off the metal interiors, adds a clean brightness to the interior. The intuitive OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) touch-screen offers precise temperature control plus advanced features like Max Ice.

BlueStar® offers both its refrigeration and cooking equipment in more than 750 colors and 10 metal trims such as brass and copper. You can design a customized BlueStar® refrigerator at “Build Your Own BlueStar”.

“For people who love to cook and entertain, and want the highest degree of performance and flexibility while doing so, the BlueStar refrigerator, whether in the new French Door or original swing door, is a kitchen essential,” said Eliza Sheffield, president, BlueStar®. “Every aspect of the design has been carefully considered, from the stainless steel interiors to the extra-large capacity.”

Since its introduction in 2016, the BlueStar® built-in refrigeration line has garnered top awards for design excellence, including the prestigious GOOD DESIGN™ Award, the oldest and most recognized program for design worldwide. The line was named one of the “30 Most Innovative Products of the Year” in 2016 by Better Homes & Gardens-Beautiful Kitchens & Baths magazine. Additionally, the BlueStar® Built-In Refrigerator was recognized with a Platinum ADEX award and was named an Honoree in the prestigious 2016 Interior Design Best of the Year Awards.

The new French Door Built-In Refrigerator joins a full suite of commercial-style appliances that seamlessly blend power and performance, mixing sleek design and technology with the ultimate in flexibility. With the recent expansion into premium refrigeration as well as electric appliances, BlueStar® continues to build upon a 135 year-old heritage of innovation by offering serious home cooks a turnkey solution for a top-performing, bespoke kitchen.
