San Diego-based team building and cooking events company enjoys increase of holiday party team-building events.

SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

A real estate development company, a video and broadband technology company, a software company and a local law firm are the latest businesses to participate in Lajollacooks4u’s popular corporate team building events this holiday season.

Each group gathered for a festive and interactive evening, with guests first participating in Lajollacooks4u’s signature olive oil competition to whet their palettes. Two to three teams were then formed (depending on the size of the group), and each assembled into their assigned stations and chose a dish to prepare – an entrée, dessert or a side dish. Seasonal favorites have included Apple, Fennel and Pomegranate Salad with a Citrus Vinaigrette, Porcini Crusted Beef Tenderloin with a Wild Mushroom Sauce and Chocolate Salami for dessert!

A head chef was selected to manage each team, and team members chose to either help prepare the recipe or to help produce a 60-second infomercial showcasing their assigned dish. Each team was then given 50 minutes to complete their challenge, and judges scored based on taste, presentation and infomercial quality.

After the winning team was crowned, all guests enjoyed the delicious California cuisine from each station, all while building a sense of team unity and taking in the breathtaking views overlooking La Jolla.

One guest wrote, "Our team had the best experience with Jodi and her team! Besides the great staff, amazing food and fun, interactive activities that Jodi introduced to our team, we also had an amazing view from the top of Mt. Soledad. Can't thank Jodi and her team enough for making our 2017 Company Holiday party one to remember!"

Although 2017 is quickly coming to a close, Lajollacooks4u is looking forward to a number of exciting events and engagements that have already been scheduled for the New Year.

Creating the most efficient and smooth-running balloon-powered vehicle was the task for 500 fifth grade students on Thursday, Nov. 2 in Atlanta during the SAE International A World In Motion (AWIM) JetToy Competition, hosted by Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG).

WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

(KMMG).

“It is so exciting and encouraging to watch tomorrow’s engineers at work. These students are powering our future with their imaginations and tenacity, just as they are propelling these JetToys with balloon power,” David L. Schutt, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of SAE International, said. “SAE International thanks Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia for their generosity and continued support of this important learning endeavor.”

Working in design teams, students culminated their classroom experience by building and testing model JetToy cars that they have analyzed for weeks. Throughout the competition, the students engaged in a variety of distance, accuracy and timed events.

The event was held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta, and included students from Troup County, Ga.; Lanett, Ala.; Harris County, Ga.; Meriwether County, Ga.; and Chambers County, Ala. Dozens of volunteers from KMMG supported the event by judging the competitions.

“By combining hands on projects with the real world experience of Kia volunteers, we hope that these students will understand the value of not only engineering and design, but skills such as team work, problem solving, and innovation,” said Stuart C. Countess, Chief Administrative Officer, KMMG. “We are committed to preparing students with the skills they will need to be successful in their future careers.”

In the JetToy curriculum, a fictitious toy company called EarthToy Designs presents the challenge in the form of a letter. The company requests that students provide a variety of interesting designs for a new line of balloon-powered vehicles made from inexpensive, common materials that will appeal to other children. Working in design teams, students build and test model JetToy cars, and collect and analyze data to understand the effect of several variables on the performance of the toys. They create multiple designs and test them, then give a formal presentation of their final JetToy designs. Throughout the curriculum and during the Nov. 2 competition, students explored the scientific concepts of jet propulsion, friction, air resistance and design, as well as soft skills such as collaboration, problem solving, innovative thinking and teamwork.

Addition of Former HookLogic Travel Business Personnel, Technology and Customers Gives Travel Brands Hyper-focused Marketing Solutions to Scale Bookings and Increase Revenue

FORT WORTH, Texas and NEW YORK (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

Koddi, a cloud-based marketing technology company for travel brands, today announced the acquisition of the former HookLogic Travel Business from Criteo (NASDAQ: CRTO) – including all employees, technology, services and customers. This addition gives Koddi a larger footprint with the ability to deliver far more visibility and intelligence for existing and new travel brands - leading directly to real business value, scaled bookings and increased revenue.

According to a Deloitte 2017 Industry Outlook* on travel and hospitality, global business travel in 2015 hit a record-breaking $1.2 trillion, up 5% from the previous year. The report reinforces the need for large brands to stay nimble and innovate. “While booking for 2017 appears to be healthy, the largest brands are not guaranteed the spoils. The past few years taught established industry incumbents to never again underestimate a seemingly innocent travel startup.”

“Brands want to work with less companies and find the right partners that quickly help them grow business and grow revenue - whether that’s online or offline,” said Nicholas Ward, President and co-founder of Koddi. “We want to be that partner and the acquisition of the former HookLogic travel business - and most importantly the people who run and work on it - allows us and our clients to win in the end. With these tremendous assets, we can now scale our offerings more quickly and give travel brands the increased reach needed for them to be successful in this hyper-competitive space.”

The teams driving this business will be integrated into respective Koddi product and sales teams. The leaders of these teams, Christopher Heike and Brian Batts, will join Koddi, providing tremendous leadership and execution skills to an already strong and talented team. They will lead the expanded Koddi offices in Ann Arbor and New York.

The new IP to the Koddi family strengthens its leading position in the travel marketing and advertising space. The company partners with some of the biggest travel brands to drive significant business results through metasearch campaigns in places like Google, TripAdvisor, Kayak, and Trivago. More than 215,000 hotels have gone live with Koddi, averaging a 35% return on investment increase and a 41% increase in bookings.

Koddi continues to grow and evolve the company, as it’s been successful tapping into deep oceans of social data and travel intent behaviors. As Facebook’s Innovation Spotlight Winner, its integration with Facebook’s Dynamic Ads for Travel gives hundreds of thousands of hotels the most actionable insights to drive bookings and revenue off of Facebook. The combination of Facebook’s personalization engine with Koddi’s unparalleled ability to utilize internal data gives travel brands a competitive advantage in driving relevant experiences.

“The news today further drives home the need for travel brands to better connect with their customers,” said George Popstefanov, co-founder and CEO of Koddi. “As the market continues to become fragmented, the winning brands will partner with those that deliver a combination of personalization with the best technology expertise, data, machine learning and reporting insights. This is Koddi, and we’ll continue to partner with our customers and drive significant business results.”

Largest Digital Credential Platform Enables Organizations to Publish Using New Markup Language

Credly issuers can publish digital credentials using a new, common credentialing language; job seekers and employers can discover and analyze education and training opportunities globally.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

Credly, the nation’s leading platform for credential issuing, tracking, and management, today announced its integration with efforts led by Credential Engine, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving transparency in the credentialing marketplace. The collaboration will enable colleges, universities, businesses, and professional and trade associations to publish credentials in a common language called Credential Transparency Description Language (CTDL). The adoption of CTDL facilitates unprecedented discoverability of workforce-relevant certifications, badges, and other verified achievements that emerge from learning, training, and workforce activities.

“Credly has been committed to open standard innovation since its founding. As education and training providers, associations, and employers rapidly move to a culture of recognition and ‘credentialing in real time’ to verify real-world skills, the demand grows for interoperable open standards that facilitate communication between different parts of the labor market,” said Jonathan Finkelstein, founder and CEO of Credly. “Our implementation of the new CTDL markup language shepherded by Credential Engine will allow organizations to publish their credentials in a way that increases their discoverability, transparency, and their value to those who have earned them.”

A tightening labor market means that while employers often struggle to identify individuals with the skills and competencies required to compete, 6.5 million Americans remain unemployed. Information included in the Credential Registry -- a cloud-based system that collects, maintains, and connects up-to-date information on credentials in the marketplace and demonstrates the potential of a common language to describe credentials through apps that leverage this new transparent data format -- will help employers understand the credibility of credentials presented by job seekers, students, and incumbent workers.

“Credly’s longstanding commitment to innovation continues with its early embrace of CTDL,” said Scott Cheney, Executive Director of Credential Engine. “By unleashing its platform to help credentialing organizations speak a common language, Credly is helping Credential Engine create an environment where verified achievements are readily recognized, stacked, and evaluated, and a diverse workforce has access to more opportunity.”

Organizations issuing credentials through Credly will be able to share an enhanced set of data when publishing using the CTDL format or choosing to make their digital credentials discoverable through the initial Credential Registry, providing greater transparency for those assessing their credentials. CTDL is currently being considered for adoption by Schema.org and the Worldwide Web Consortium, two international organizations that set the standards for the Internet and shared vocabularies for developers.

“We are excited to see these two partners come together to increase transparency and visibility for digital credential issuers such as ourselves,” said Charlie Wonderlic, CEO of Wonderlic. “The new integration and common credentialing language will make it even easier for our digital badges to be discovered on the web and for us to share the information of what makes our credentials valuable in the workplace.”

Credential Engine and Credly are both supported by Lumina Foundation, and share the foundation’s commitment to increasing the proportion of Americans with high-quality degrees, certificates and other credentials to 60 percent by 2025 (known as “Goal 2025”). Credly was the first direct investment by the the foundation’s strategic social impact investment arm now known as Lumina Impact Ventures. Credential Engine is additionally supported by JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Microsoft.

About Credly

Credly is a leading digital credential service provider, helping the world recognize lifelong achievement with the most popular platforms for verifying, sharing, and managing digital credentials and badges. The enterprise-class system allows organizations to officially verify skills and competencies; distribute portable and secure digital credentials and open badges; and gain actionable data and insights. Thousands of education institutions, industry associations, employers, and workforce development programs use Credly to make achievements visible. https://credly.com.

Nissan Puts the “World in Motion” Through 24 Years of School-Based Partnership with SAE International’s STEM Program for K-8 Youth

Through a long-term partnership with Nissan Motor Company, SAE International—the global engineering association—has successfully reached over 5,000 students in deserving communities with its A World in Motion (AWIM) science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education program for K-8 students.

WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

Through a long-term partnership with Nissan Motor Company, SAE International—the global engineering association—has successfully reached over 5,000 students in deserving communities with its A World in Motion (AWIM) science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education program for K-8 students.

AWIM is a teacher-administered, industry volunteer-assisted program that brings STEM education to life in K-8 classrooms. Interdisciplinary in nature and benchmarked to national standards, the AWIM program incorporates STEM learning experiences through hands-on activities that reinforce classroom STEM learning, including primary school, elementary school and middle school challenges.

Since its first pledge in 1993, Nissan has been a continuous supporter of the SAE Foundation and the AWIM program delivering the AWIM program to classrooms and bringing together teachers, industry STEM volunteers (Nissan employees) and students with a strong emphasis on participation throughout Nissan communities. By the end of the current grant year, this partnership with Nissan and SAE will have reached over 5,000 students in these communities across five states (Arizona, Michigan, Texas, Mississippi, and Tennessee). Students emerge from AWIM having learned foundational problem solving and analytical skills they need to be successful throughout their education and beyond.

“Reaching students at the earliest possible age is key to keeping young learners engaged in STEM subjects,” stated Rebecca Vest, Nissan Vice President of Corporate Development and Social Responsibility. “Nissan is committed to supporting education in communities where our employees live and work, and we are particularly interested in investing in STEM education, which is vital in the automotive industry.”

“AWIM eliminates several barriers to achievement. Because STEM classrooms offer students opportunities to explore and create using a wide variety of materials and resources, this type of class requires additional materials and resources, which is sometimes difficult to acquire on a public school budget,” said Mary Decker, MEd, Curriculum and Professional Learning Supervisor of Franklin Special School District, Franklin, TN.

A case study was recently released highlighting the value of AWIM and its impact on K-8 students, as well as Nissan’s involvement in the program. That case study can be accessed here: http://awim.sae.org/si/nissan/.

More information about AWIM can be found at: http://awim.sae.org/

Additionally, the SAE Foundation has announced the 2018 Industry Leadership Award Recipient to be Nissan’s Chief Performance Officer, José Muñoz. This honor will be awarded at the SAE Foundation Annual Celebration in May 2018.

Crowded Stores and More Online Buyers, But Thanksgiving Week Spending Fell Short

NPD Holiday Shopping Bag 2017 Weekly Report - Week 4

Port Washington, New York (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

U.S. consumer spending did not match the reports of in-store crowds on Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend this year and, according to NPD’s Checkout e-commerce information, significant increases in online buyer activity translated into mediocre spending increases on the key days. Declines over the past two weeks have dulled the season’s early lead over Holiday 2016 – cumulatively retail sales for the first four weeks are up 2 percent across the key general merchandise categories in NPD’s Holiday Shopping.

Week Ending November 25, 2017

Overall Performance

  • Dollar sales in the fourth week of November 2017 were 2 percent lower than they were the same week in 2016.
  • Prestige Beauty and Small Home Appliances were the leaders this week, each with double-digit dollar gains.

Top Performing Categories

  • Home Automation (driven by Security & Monitoring)
  • Kitchen Appliances (driven by Cookers)
  • Digital Media Speakers (driven by Streaming Audio Speakers)
  • PCs (driven by Notebook Computers)
  • Home Environment Appliances (driven by Specialty Cleaning/Robotic Vacuums)

“Once again we see practical gifting, and self-gifting, take center stage through Black Friday weekend,” said NPD’s Chief Industry Advisor, Marshal Cohen. “Consumers seem to have stored up their own home and beauty product needs in order to take advantage of great prices.”

NPD’s Checkout information shows that the number of online buyers increased by more than 30 percent on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the Saturday after, in comparison to the same days in 2016, but only the Saturday after Black Friday saw the average e-commerce basket size increase more than 2 percent.

“The increase in shopping traffic didn’t result in more spending, so this holiday season has some catching up to do,” added Cohen. “With just three weeks left in the season retailers will be soon pressed into pulling out all the stops with store wide sales, in hopes of capturing more impulse purchases that will help to propel sales.”

Information is collected from a panel of leading retailers that provide weekly point-of-sale data covering in-store and online sales of Apparel, Toys, Technology, Athletic Footwear, Prestige Beauty(Fragrance, Makeup, Skincare), Small Home Appliances, and Office Supplies.

Note: Shifts may occur from week to week in reporting results, due to retailer reporting updates.

Checkout delivers the most comprehensive view of consumer purchase behavior for general merchandise categories, across all retailers over time, to help you understand how to adjust your marketing to fuel growth. Checkout E-commerce offers the most complete and accurate view of the online channel – including first and third-party sales for Amazon and other marketplaces, 400+ e-commerce retailers including direct-to-consumer, and an early read on emerging players. Information is collected from more than 3 million consumers, through data provided by our partner Slice Intelligence and NPD’s own proprietary receipt-harvesting mobile phone app.

CBRS Training Programs for CPIs are Critical to the Operation of the Band

WASHINGTON (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

The Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum) a non-profit international industry association dedicated to driving the future of radio communications and systems worldwide, today announced a Request for Proposal for Certified Professional Installer (CPI) Training Program Administrators for the new Citizen’s Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band. This request brings the band one step closer to being operational.

The CBRS band provides for sophisticated multi-tier spectrum sharing with protected incumbents. Per the FCC, the majority of CBRS radio transceivers or Citizen’s Broadband Service Devices (CBSDs) must be installed by a CPI to lawfully operate within the CBRS. To meet the FCC Part 96 rules, CPIs must be trained and certified. The WInnForum’s CPI Accreditation Standard (WINNF-TS-0247-V1.0.0 found here: http://bit.ly/2BIXVQi) provides a working outline of how training programs for CPIs will be achieved as well as which CBSDs need certification, CPI responsibilities, CPI database information, and more.

CPIs are responsible for assuring the registration data entered into the SAS is accurate, and making sure equipment is properly installed. A complete description of CPI requirements can be found in the CBRS Operational and Functional Requirements document (http://bit.ly/2krGXCM). CPI Training Program Administrators can be a network equipment operator, an equipment vendor, a SAS administrator or a 3rd party training organization. They will develop the CPI Training Program, and, following accreditation, administer the curriculum and certification test as well as maintain certification records.

“The creation of this accreditation program for CPI Training Administrators and the resulting request for proposal by the Forum is a crucial step in making the CBRS band operational. Without Certified Professional Installers, essentially no radios in the CBRS ecosystem can be installed,” said Richard Bernhardt, National Spectrum Advisor of WISPA and Chair of the WInnForum CBRS Operations Work Group that developed of the CPI Accreditation Standard specification.

Operating as a multi-stakeholder group as defined by the FCC in the Report and Orders and Part 96 to create the technical rules and industry standardized interfaces for the band, the WInnForum has created a number of reports and specifications on the CBRS band which are available in the group’s Work Products web page: http://www.wirelessinnovation.org/ssc-public-files. Earlier this year, the WInnForum achieved another milestone by launching a program for the approval for of CBRS PKI Root CA Operators (http://www.cbrs.wirelessinnovation.org/cbrs-root-ca-operator).

Initial proposals for this RFP are due 19 January 2018. Proposals received after that date will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Each applicant seeking to become a training program administrator for CPI’s should include in its response all mandatory curriculum items and a methodology for training, reviewing, and examining and certifying CPIs. For complete proposal requirements, see the Request for Proposal here http://bit.ly/2jrBsAp.

Submissions should include a signed formal offer in response to this RFP and a request to be accredited by WInnForum. All RFP material should be sent to:

Never Wax Again with Juice Infinity, The World’s Best Ski and Snowboard Wax Replacement

Live on Kickstarter, Juice Infinity penetrates deep within the surface of skis and snowboards to ensure a long-lasting, freshly-waxed feeling.

LONDON (PRWEB) December 07, 2017

Juice Infinity, the world’s best ski and snowboard wax replacement, is live on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and raising funds to bring the project to life.

The constant need to reapply wax on skis and snowboards can be a time consuming and costly endeavor for those serious about the sport. In addition, there are long term damaging effect on the environment. Juice infinity is a revolutionary new wax replacement that with one spray can penetrate deep within the surface of skis and snowboards powerful enough that users will never have to wax again.

"Juice Infinity was born from the need to come up with a super long-lasting wax-free solution for skis and snowboards of all types and for all disciplines that is easy to apply. We realized that permanent solutions (including our own original one) are inherently difficult to apply correctly, due to the difficulties in ensuring that skis and boards are properly prepared before application,” says inventor JD Prince on the inspiration behind the project. “We wanted to have a product that has amazing life that far exceeds that of any wax, but that can be applied with no tools, no skills, and no special workplace. Juice Infinity can be applied by anyone, anywhere and at any time, and is the simplest and easiest solution that has incredible benefits, amazing long life and at the same time is 100% ecologically-sound.”

Juice Infinity has been designed to be the world’s simplest, long-life treatment for alpine skis, cross country skis and snowboards. After spraying the entire area and allowing time to dry, the skis are snowboards are ready to hit the slopes. It has been scientifically developed and deliberately tested in the worst conditions possible to ensure that it will work for everyone, at any time, anywhere. The product has been put through the paces by some of the top ski and snowboard instructors and professionals worldwide.

Juice Infinity is also the most eco-friendly solution on the market. As waxes have tried to keep pace with the constant need for improvement, harmful and toxic fluorocarbons and other technicals have been added, all of which are extremely harmful to the environment. Juice Infinity releases no harmful chemicals into the environment and because of the way it bonds deep into the base material, cannot be removed through friction with the snow.

"Unlike permanent solutions available, Juice Infinity needs no expensive or skilled ski/board preparation such as stone-grinding before use and can be applied by anyone without any tools whatsoever. Even traditional waxing requires special tools and skills or at the very least a trip to the local service centre,” adds Prince. “Compared with wax the gliding properties are equal to the top waxes available, yet Juice Infinity lasts significantly longer – keeping that freshly-waxed feeling for weeks on end. Nothing else available offers such convenience, ease-of-use and amazing longevity.”

Juice Infinity is currently live and available to support on Kickstarter: http://kck.st/2jtDhNB

One of the UK’s foremost voices on homeland security and the role of law in modern society, Lord Daniel Brennan QC, has joined the Board of Advisors of Assured Enterprises, Inc., a US-based cybersecurity company, providing innovative solutions to major corporations, Departments of Defense and medium-sized businesses.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (PRWEB) December 08, 2017

One of the UK’s foremost voices on homeland security and the role of law in modern society, Lord Daniel Brennan QC, has joined the Board of Advisors of Assured Enterprises, Inc., a US-based cybersecurity company, providing innovative solutions to major corporations, Departments of Defense and medium-sized businesses.

Lord Brennan has been a life Peer and member of UK’s House of Lords since 2000. A former Chairman of the Bar of England and Wales, Lord Brennan has specialized in both advisory and litigation work globally, on behalf of governments and major financial institutions among others. A careful student of the world’s rapid transformation to the Digital Age, Lord Brennan has distinguished himself as a practical and wise voice on matters of national and multilateral digital protection, bound by the rule of law.

“Dan Brennan brings integrity, insight and creative thought to the cybersecurity and data protection challenges facing major financial institutions, NATO, military and law enforcement agencies and many others,” explained Stephen M. Soble, Assured’s Chairman and CEO.

An expert on the international liability of multinational enterprises and on critical new laws, such as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Lord Brennan has worked with major clients throughout the UK and Europe, South and Southeast Asia and South America.

“Assured Enterprises is unique. With Assured, we have a thoughtful team of seasoned experts inventing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions, as though they are among the elites of Silicon Valley, yet they do not oversell their products. In addition, the Assured Team has deep international and business acumen and thoroughly reviews the panoply of cyber risks for their clients, before designing a program for cybersecurity improvements. Imagine, defining the problems first, then designing cost-efficient solutions before deploying proactive cybersecurity solutions. This is the genius of Assured Enterprises, and a principal reason I am pleased to join the Assured Team,” said Lord Brennan.

Assured has worked with UK- and EU-based clients and will rely on guidance from Lord Brennan as it expands its presence in various countries including the UK and Spain.

“We believe that the Equifax breach was avoidable. And, this topic was addressed by Assured during the recent Fraud and Data Breach Summit in London. Assured Enterprises certainly stands for ‘Serious Cybersecurity’,” noted Lord Brennan.

“The Equifax breach was avoidable. Big name cybersecurity providers delivered risk assessments, compliance and advice on vulnerabilities. What they didn’t have was a tool and comprehensive system to identify, routinely, the known vulnerabilities in the software resident on their system and to remediate in real world time,” explained Stephen M. Soble, Assured’s CEO. “What we offer is faster, better and less expensive than the premier, well-known providers. When you think of Assured, think Serious Cybersecurity,” added Soble.

Oct 2017 Interview with Stephen Soble

AssuredScanDKV® detects known vulnerabilities lurking within the software running on networks. Only AssuredScanDKV®, with its patent-pending system, can unpack or unbundle libraries and DLLs within executables for a full binary scan. Only AssuredScanDKV® provides detailed remediation information and prioritization of risk.

According to a Senior Officer of a client US military agency, “AssuredScanDKV®…empowered [the Agency] to eliminate known software vulnerabilities within [its] software.” More information on this case study here.

Assured believes that proactive cyber risk management is possible. Assured provides a comprehensive, strategic security program including their Deep Software Scanner, AssuredScanDKV®, the world’s most comprehensive cyber risk assessment system, TripleHelix™ which also drives a CyberScore®, a readily understandable benchmark and measurement system which defines, with clarity, factually-supported risk in a network, and tools which detect the presence of an ongoing, previously undetected penetration, and more. One engineering visit informs virtually any regulatory compliance report required throughout the year, thus saving internal resources and improving workflow management, and reducing costs.

“The Assured philosophy is to empower our clients with the appropriate, cost-efficient level of assessment necessary to provide visibility into cyber risk and compliance,” said Soble.

About Assured Enterprises:

Assured Enterprises offers a holistic arsenal of cybersecurity tools, products, services and support which include binary-level software scanning, comprehensive IT and organizational assessments, and proof of concept testing designed to assure reliable, proactive cybersecurity, remediation and resiliency.

Transducers USA Introduces New Custom Ultrasonic Sensors

$

Transducers USA, an industry leading supplier of audible signal devices, has announced the introduction of its new custom Ultrasonic Sensors. These new devices include both a proximity sensor and an ultrasonic speaker, providing both detection and an audible alert notifying the occurrence of a specified condition.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (PRWEB) December 08, 2017

The non-contact sensing technology used in these Ultrasonic devices measures distance to an object by emitting sound waves and receiving the echo signal using a single ultrasonic element, unlike optical sensors which require both a transmitter and receiver. The ultrasonic speaker emits sound waves at high frequencies (25,000 Hz to 40,000 Hz), which are inaudible.

Transducer USA’s Ultrasonic Sensors can detect a wide range of materials: hard, soft, any color, flat or curved. They can also reflect off transparent objects, such as glass or a liquid surface, and are stable for targets such as mesh trays or springs. Detection is not affected by dust or dirt; rugged Ultrasonic Sensors are largely immune to environmental conditions indoors or out. The use of solid state technology eliminates the use of mechanical parts to break, extending the operating life of the device, and prevents dangerous sparking. Unlike traditional proximity sensors, Ultrasonic Sensors operate over longer distances and can be programmed to establish a user-specified distance range.

While Ultrasonic Sensors have a variety of applications, their primary functions include detection and level measurement. They are ideally suited for material handling, food and beverage, fill level measurement or detection at gates and doorways, as well as other diverse applications.

Ultrasonic Sensors can measure dynamically changing diameters, distances, heights, depths and count the number of units. A sample list of applications includes:

  • Forklifts & Pallets – to determine if a pallet is on the fork and how far it’s inserted under the pallet
  • Refuse Collection – sensors can withstand extreme temperatures, violent jolting and vibration for reliable and safe operation
  • Landscaping Spray Systems – tree sprayers require the ability to measure and control the distance of the spray to the tops of trees to maintain efficient use of chemicals
  • Tank & Silo Measurement – provides level measurement of liquids such as milk, chemicals or lacquer, as well as mud, sludge or bulk goods, such as sand, or gravel
  • Agricultural Equipment Sprays – the boom height of sprayers must be monitored and adjusted to optimize the spray coverage and prevent the boom from impacting crops or soil
  • Collision Detection – avoids serious accidents from collision with other industrial or construction equipment, such as aerial work platforms
  • Vehicle Detection – as used in barrier/gate systems in parking lots and garages or car washes
  • Counting – detection and counting of bottles or other products on production lines and conveyors; optimizes entry and exit of products in the workflow
  • Production Downtime – detection of adverse production conditions and costly downtime, such as a web break on a printing press
  • People Detection – identifies and counts humans entering the distance band
  • Automation equipment – on/off switching, relay connections, PLC inputs and multi-sensor detection networks
  • Robotic sensing – distances, collision avoidance, etc.

Ultrasonic Sensors from Transducers USA include the following specifications and ratings

  • Solid sealed aluminum housing or commercial plastic housing
  • Sealed epoxy potted construction
  • Waterproof – parts with IP 57 and IP67 ratings are available
  • Measurement rates from 25,000 Hz to 40,000 Hz
  • Compliant with RoHS, REACH and Conflict Minerals law

Transducers USA will customize an Ultrasonic Sensor to meet the specific needs of the customer and the application requirements. Device specifications can be provided within a few days. Standard lead time for samples is two weeks, and production lead time is generally six weeks.

Executive Education program will immerse financial leaders in the latest financial research

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) December 08, 2017

Every day finance executives must make rapid-fire decisions about corporate strategy, capital allocation, investment decisions, balance sheet structure, acquisitions, and other mission-critical concerns. To help them identify core issues and craft a decision-making approach, the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has launched a new Advanced Corporate Finance program. This course will expose executives to sophisticated tools aimed at helping them anticipate and respond to today’s hot-button issues, including options, risk management, international finance, and emerging financial technologies.

Backed by the world-renowned research and thought leadership of the Wharton School, executives across industries will be immersed in the latest research and real-world business applications surrounding corporate finance. Participants will also be exposed to emerging trends in the financial technology area, which poses a future major disruption to the banking economy and to financial markets.

“Interest rates are rising from record lows, regulatory regimes like Dodd-Frank are under attack by the administration, and blockchain and other technologies are transforming the way that companies raise capital and engage in business,” says Itay Goldstein, Wharton’s Joel S. Ehrenkranz Family Professor and Professor of Finance. “Today, everyone who works in finance—inside and outside of banking—needs an update.”

Advanced Corporate Finance brings together a powerhouse of Wharton faculty from multiple business disciplines such as economics, finance, and legal studies. In addition to Goldstein, other Wharton faculty teaching in the program include Finance Professors David Musto, Joao F. Gomes, and Karen Lewis; and Peter Conti-Brown from the Legal Studies & Business Ethics department.

Musto is chair of Wharton’s Finance Department and also the Ronald O. Perelman Professor in Finance. Gomes, an expert at the intersection of macroeconomics and financial markets, is Wharton’s Howard Butcher III Professor of Finance. Lewis is the Joseph and Ida Sondheimer Professor in International Economics and Finance at Wharton. Conti-Brown is assistant professor of Legal Studies & Business Ethics, and author of The Power and Independence of the Federal Reserve.

“A key differentiator of Wharton’s Advanced Corporate Finance program is the way it will immerse participants in the latest research surrounding corporate finance,” says Goldstein, noting that the faculty bring deep connections across a wide section of industries. “One of the highlights of Advanced Corporate Finance is the use of live cases, where participants will be exposed to real companies facing real problems.”

Program participants will evaluate different challenges that companies face, and will make specific recommendations that will be evaluated by Wharton faculty based on feedback from company representatives.

Among other benefits, program participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Tackle capital structure decisions either through debt, equity, or a combination of both
  • Manage risk across borders in a global economy
  • Use real options to expand, change, or curtail projects based on changing economic, technological, or market conditions
  • Value and assess the financial and risk implications of decisions

The program targets executives with finance responsibilities, across all industries, who have strategic financial oversight of their company/division and wish to strengthen or broaden their understanding of corporate finance.

Session topics include:

  • Capital Structure: Debt vs. Equity
  • Real Options: Decision Tree Models
  • Global Trends: Macroeconomics, Regulation, and Financial Technology

ActiveProspect Announces Partnership with MediaAlpha to Provide an Integrated TCPA Solution for Insurers

MediaAlpha offers ActiveProspect's TrustedForm product to their customers as a turnkey TCPA compliance solution directly from within the MediaAlpha platform.

(PRWEB) December 08, 2017

ActiveProspect, a SaaS provider of lead acquisition solutions, is partnering with MediaAlpha, the leading programmatic platform for vertical search media, to provide a turnkey TCPA compliance solution to MediaAlpha customers. With this new partnership, MediaAlpha’s insurance customers will be able to purchase and use ActiveProspect’s TrustedForm product directly within the MediaAlpha platform.

Marketers who contact consumers on their mobile phones must be especially cautious to comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), as litigation continues to rise. Because the burden of proof in TCPA lawsuits falls on the marketer, even companies who follow the guidelines must be able to prove that consumers gave written consent to be contacted. TrustedForm provides the highest standard for independent proof of consent by storing a video replay of the consumer’s interaction with the form where consent was given. Using TrustedForm, MediaAlpha customers will be able to verify that the required consent language was present on the form in real-time, prior to contacting the consumer.

“We’re excited to be working with an innovative partner like MediaAlpha who has transformed the way comparison (vertical) search media is bought and sold,” said Steve Rafferty, CEO & Founder of ActiveProspect. “Since the insurance industry relies heavily on outbound communication to prospects, TrustedForm is a natural fit for the MediaAlpha platform.”

"MediaAlpha’s platforms were built to deliver superior results through transparency, control and data” said Michael Foster, VP of Platform Solutions at MediaAlpha. "With a turnkey integration into the MediaAlpha platform, our partners can leverage ActiveProspect’s TrustedForm solution and proprietary intent data to improve campaign performance by acquiring high-intent, TCPA compliant prospects."

About MediaAlpha

MediaAlpha innovates at the intersection of programmatic technologies and vertical search media, bringing unparalleled transparency and efficiency to both buyers and sellers. Participants show support for the blockchain-powered micro-task marketplace

CAYMAN ISLANDS (PRWEB) December 08, 2017

StormX, the blockchain-powered adtech and gamified micro-task innovators, today announced that the crowdsale for its ERC-20 token STORM Token has successfully concluded its crowdsale, with $32 million USD contributed. Throughout the sale period, StormX cemented strategic collaborations with Alchemist Ventures, QTUM, Changelly, Zencash, Kyber Network, Bancor, and Jaxx to expand the platform’s global presence and enhance the utility of STORM tokens.

StormX CEO Simon Yu said, “The outpouring of support we’ve received from both individuals and industry-leading companies and advisors in our community in the lead up to the sale, and afterwards, has been humbling. Thanks to the commitment of our Storm Players and Storm Makers, we are confident that we’ll achieve our vision of creating a gamified micro-task platform that will revolutionize and democratize the freelance micro-task marketplace. We hope people worldwide will adopt our mechanism for commerce to connect and interact in a marketplace with significantly reduced transaction costs.”

Post-crowdsale, StormX will focus on next steps to develop the Storm Market. The Storm Market platform will operate like an online marketplace where Storm Players are rewarded for completing gamified micro-tasks. Storm Makers and Storm Players will be able to use the Storm Market platform to create and accept tasks using Ethereum-based smart contracts, which are powered by STORM Tokens.

The Storm Market platform will include three gamified opportunities in the following categories: Storm Play, Storm Shop, and Storm Gigs. Storm Play, formerly known as BitMaker, rewards anyone STORM Tokens for watching advertisements and trying out new products and services. Storm Shop will reward users with STORM Tokens for buying certain products and services. Storm Gigs will enable anyone to request services, such as QA Testing or Machine Learning tasks, and select available, appropriately-skilled workers to complete micro-tasks.

Simon Yu added, “By utilizing the benefits of blockchain technology, we’ve already created a platform that provides endless reward opportunities for individuals at little to no transaction cost. Going forward, we plan to build on this success and focus on maximizing the user-experience by offering more products, services and opportunities in our marketplace. Our team of thought leaders and blockchain experts will continue to work tirelessly to create an exciting and rewarding experience for Storm users.”

StormX, Inc. CEO Simon Yu is available to interview.
