Lightspeed Unveils “GRAVITY NETWORK”

Key partnerships highlight global programmatic insights data network.

Warren, NJ (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

Lightspeed today announced the launch of the Gravity Network: a partnership arrangement between selected data companies that make it possible for insights projects on wider scale than traditional DOI panels.

Over the past several years, Lightspeed has assembled this network by vetting a select group of data providers and platform companies to support a growing demand for high quality, globally consistent sample for programmatic, on-demand and price-sensitive insights projects. These include companies in the market research and panel space, as well as more technical platforms in the media, data and CRM space.

Select partners in the Gravity Network include GroupM’s [m]PLATFORM, Lucid's Fulcrum Platform, Cint, Lucid, Kantar Millward Brown’s Ignite, Wunderman Data Products' Zipline, Tap Research, P2Sample and Dalia. This network represents a vastly larger pool than traditionally sourced Double Opt-In (DOI) research panels alone and will grow with new partnerships.

“Along with our clients, Lightspeed sees opportunities in the billions of profiles in diverse pools of people and so we are proactively expanding our reach and connections through the Gravity Network,” says Caroline Frankum, CEO of Lightspeed. “To find the quality in the quantity of data out there, we will leverage our first party panel relationships, testing and extending through trusted partners, and validating through comparison work and our patented Honesty Detector service.”

Key differentiating factors from other programmatic data supply networks include connections to WPP owned data assets such as GroupM’s [m]PLATFORM and Wunderman Data Products' Zipline which can be used to find target audiences for both research purposes, as well as media activation, and CRM purposes. Colin Barlow, COO of GroupM stated, “We launched [m]PLATFORM to create a robust and independent vehicle for identifying and engaging consumers across all addressable media worldwide. We’re partnering with Lightspeed to bring their data into our platform and we’re also using our consumer targeting capabilities to help them reach more people, efficiently and on demand.”

Lightspeed is also investing in parallel to further develop its core first party DOI panels and has achieved a 20% increase in capacity in the last quarter. Both Programmatic Supply and DOI panels have an important role in the future of marketing research, but programmatic audiences can offer more expansive data profiles to meet client requirements for larger data sets that are sourced and validated from permissioned audiences.

With the launch and ongoing investment in Gravity Network, Lightspeed is enabling wider choice in price and source, but also the ability to find quality in the growing quantity of data, a growing client need recently referenced in the July 2017 Deloitte Review.

In conjunction with this launch and in recognition of the enhanced role that programmatic sample plays in research, Lightspeed has promoted Tom Ottersburg to the position of Vice President of Programmatic and Acquisition. Tom has been a key architect of the growing network which has experienced 85% growth in yield year over year.

Early Results of TABS Analytics 5th Annual Food and Beverage Survey Show Differences between Online and Brick and Mortar Shoppers at Retailers including Target and Walmart

Shelton, CT (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

TABS Analytics today shared early results from its forthcoming Annual Food and Beverage Consumables Study that showed that some of the strongest support for President Donald Trump comes from online shoppers. Target.com and Walmart.com shoppers, in particular, were more favorable of the President than those who shop at other grocery outlets, including the brick and mortar stores of those retailers.

“Donald Trump has shown an affinity for playing to his base, so, given the support he has from online shoppers, he may want to back off his push on the internet tax issue,” said Dr. Kurt Jetta, CEO and founder of TABS Analytics. “The people that use Amazon and other online platforms for groceries are much more favorable to Trump than the national average.”

The exhibit attached shows the favorability of President Trump by grocery shoppers at each retailer in TABS Analytics’ recent survey of more than 1,000 consumers who visit an outlet 6+ times annually.

The full 5th Annual Food and Beverage Consumables Study will be issued on September 13, 2017, accompanied by a webinar discussing the results. Register for the webinar here.

Next Level Performance Gives Back to the Community with HOPE Week, Inspired by the New York Yankees

0

Next Level Performance has a long history of charitable initiatives, donating time and resources to the community with HOPE Week being the main service event each year. In 2017, the company again put its focus on the local community by working to support the Children’s Specialized Hospital and other local organizations.

New Brunswick, NJ (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week began in 2009 by the New York Yankees based on the belief that corporations should commit to improving their communities. Next Level Performance adapted the concept with their annual HOPE Week. This initiative reflects the company’s C.A.R.E.S Values, in which it is grounded and that help make the organization one of New Jersey’s Best Places to Work. This year’s HOPE Week kicked off on August 7th, focusing efforts on children, helping three organizations that provide essential services in the local community.

The Children’s Specialized Hospital (CHS) of New Brunswick serves children with traumatic brain injury, severe autism, and a variety of other illnesses that make everyday life a challenge. This year, Next Level Performance partnered with the hospital to assist them in several ways.

To encourage children during hours of therapy, Window Boxes were designed and assembled in the hospital. Next Level Performance provided several motivating toys on the therapists’ Wish List, meeting the practical needs of the children. During the week, children of Next Level teammates came to the office to create inspiring paintings to display in the hospital, write notes of good wishes to the children and make a video, and to help assemble donations. It was an important opportunity to connect the Next Level Performance family with the ones in the hospital.

Every child’s hospital stay brings day-to-day hurdles for the family. To help support these families, 150 Weekend Snack Packs were purchased and assembled to keep energy up while the cafeteria is closed. Another 150 Parent’s Welcome Kits with basic toiletries, water, and playing cards were created to help them ease into an unexpected stay. The families of these children also enjoyed a catered breakfast by Next Level, designed to give them a chance to meet one another and unwind.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families of the children in the hospital, offering parents and siblings a nearby place to stay during the duration of the child’s hospital visit, offering kitchens, play areas, and the comforts of home. Most patients are in CSH for four to six weeks, which means difficulties and extra expenses for families. Throughout the month of August, Next Level Performance teammates are collecting donations, matched by the company, to cover the expenses of one family for the entire four to six weeks of their stay.

Elijah’s Promise has a long-standing relationship with Next Level Performance. The organization’s mission is stated in the words, Food Changes Lives, and they provide a soup kitchen, free clothing for those in need, and hospitality job training for those in the community trying to enter the workforce. Each year Next Level runs a building-wide food drive, in partnership with Matrix, the building management company. The food drive directly helps support those in need of food, clothing, and shelter in the community.

Susan Adams, Vice President of Engagement says, ”HOPE Week is meaningful to our teammates and provides needed support in our community. This year we involved our families in in-office initiatives. Giving our children the chance to brighten the days of hospitalized kids was powerful. Our teammates were excited to roll up their sleeves and work together to benefit the kids of CSH, their families, and our neighbors in need.”

Premier Colorado Digital Marketing Firm Enjoying Record Breaking Growth

Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

Colorado Springs-based SocialSEO (Colorado’s largest digital marketing firm) is thrilled to announce their inclusion on the 2017 Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies. To be considered for the list, a company must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit and independent (not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) and meet minimum revenue and growth percentages from 2013 to 2016. According to SBA.gov, there are over 30 million businesses in America. Led by Founder and CEO, Greg Walthour, SocialSEO is ranked 2336, joining some of the most well-known and well-run companies in the United States.

SocialSEO’s staff of 60 full time employees specializes in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC or Paid Search), and Social Media marketing. Recently featured as one of the 10 fastest growing Google Solution Providers in 2017 by The Silicon Review, the company is truly making a name for itself in the rapidly growing and ever changing digital marketing community. The company has shown consistently phenomenal growth in the past five years, expanding by 1,000% (when the economy as a whole grew just 6.7%, that’s a result most businesses wouldn’t even dream of achieving).

While this pace of growth is impressive in and of itself, SocialSEO has been able to retain it’s company culture, mission and values, which is something the company is perhaps more proud of than the revenue growth. This dynamic firm offers its customers an effective and refreshing approach to digital marketing, focusing on improving the lives of its clients and employees and helping other businesses succeed. A Premier Google Partner involved in many of Google’s first beta tests and product rollouts, SocialSEO invests almost three times as much time and money into training their talented employees, market research and product development as their average competitor, and their savvy business strategy is obviously working out quite well for this fast growing company.

SocialSEO is headquartered in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO and has offices in Denver and Boulder, CO, and is currently expanding to Phoenix, AZ.

Want to work for one of America’s Fastest Growing Companies? SocialSEO is always looking for “go-getters” to continue building their dynamic digital marketing team. Visit SocialSEO and check out current job postings for more information.

Students tweet how they are more than a test score

Alexandria, Va (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

August 17, 2017 – America’s 2017 class of high school graduating seniors have been telling the world, via social media, how they are college, career and life ready beyond a single test score. AASA, The School Superintendents Association, and Hobsons, the company behind Naviance, are pleased to announce the names of the Redefining Ready! National Scholarship winners — based on a 30-second video entry and a 250-word essay.

Announced in March at AASA’s National Conference on Education, the Twitter-based competition was created to provide students with opportunities to share how high school shaped their post-secondary plans and, more accurately, determine college and career readiness.

Students were asked to post their videos to Twitter using the #RedefiningReady hashtag and tagging @AASAHQ and @Hobsons in their scholarship entry tweets. Students used phones, iPads or video cameras to film the videos and were judged on compelling content.

The winners are listed below and their video submissions can be viewed at https://storify.com/AASAHQ/redefiningready-national-scholarship-winners. Regional winners are based on areas of the country representing AASA’s Governing Board.

  • National First Place Winner ($5,000): Elizabeth Cantlebary, Park City High School, Park City, Utah

  • Region 7 Runner-Up ($1,000): Allison Clancy, Marcellus Senior High School, Marcellus, New York

“America’s high schools are filled with innovators and solution makers. Our contest winners exemplify that,” said Daniel A. Domenech, AASA executive director. “We congratulate those students who participated in our scholarship competition. We wish them well as they pursue lifelong goals and dreams as they enter life beyond high school.”

“We are so pleased to partner with AASA on the Redefining Ready! National Scholarship competition. The responses were inspiring,” said Patricia Gagnon, Hobsons’ general manager for Naviance. “The contest and the amazing responses further underscore the importance of helping each student envision and execute a plan for their future.”

Redefining Ready! uses various metrics, including success in Advanced Placement or dual credit classes, completion of internships or industry certifications and co-curricular participation, to better assess students' potential for postsecondary success.

Adeptia celebrates 5 consecutive years on the Magic Quadrant

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

Adeptia, a leading provider of automated business-to-business (B2B) data connectivity and integration solutions for non-technical users, today announced it has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. in its “2017 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools.”

The report published on 3 August 2017 is available at https://www.gartner.com/doc/3777464/magic-quadrant-data-integration-tools.

The Gartner report notes, “Organizations are increasingly required to provide data to, and receive data from, external trading partners (customers, suppliers, business partners and others). Data integration tools are relevant for addressing these challenges, which often consist of the same types of data access, transformation and movement components found in other common use cases.”

The recent report observes that, based in Chicago, Illinois, “Adeptia supports the core requirements of bulk/ batch data delivery and granular data capture and propagation with a combination of its data integration capability, application integration, ESB, B2B integration and trading partner management.”

Gartner’s inquiry discussions concluded that Adeptia’s data integration functionalities blended with enterprise service bus (ESB) and business process management (BPM) are greatly appreciated by reference customers.

Evaluating the core strengths of Adeptia, Gartner mentions that Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) capabilities of Adeptia enable B2B inter-enterprise data sharing use cases. “Its products support integration of on-premises endpoints, cloud endpoints, and a combination of the two for integration patterns that support pervasive integration. Reference customers also cite ease of use, good performance, and throughput as strengths, which are particularly relevant for enabling citizen integrators and capitalizing on business moments,” says the report.

“We are thrilled to be cited again by Gartner in the data integration tools magic quadrant," said Lou Ennuso, CEO at Adeptia. “At Adeptia we are laser-focused on providing the most innovative B2B data integration solution for our customers that combines all the channels – Files, Forms and APIs – in a single solution. This business application approach allows IT, operations staff and partners to collaborate to onboard customers and partners faster and provide the best customer experience.”

ADLINK Launches Industrial-Grade Intelligent Video Management Server for 4K H.265 Video Processing Applications

With integrated high performance GPUs, the MCS-2080 2U high-density platform offers improved graphics and video processing performance for surveillance, broadcasting and conferencing

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

ADLINK Technology, a global provider of leading edge computing solutions that drive data-to-decision applications across industries, today introduced the MCS-2080 Intelligent Video Management Server, a dedicated, high-density platform featuring up to sixteen Intel® Xeon® processors E3-1585 v5. ADLINK’s MCS-2080 is an application-ready intelligent platform offering a high-performance and high availability design to meet the critical challenges of 4K & H.265 video applications in surveillance with video analytics, broadcasting, and video conferencing used in remote education and healthcare environments.

Today’s ubiquitous use of video means that cloud-based service providers are required to perform extensive data processing. In surveillance, IP cameras record large-volume video files with at resolutions up to 4K. In broadcasting, high-performance hardware transcoding capability saves valuable time for video editors. In video conferencing, real-time and high-resolution video streaming consumes significant computing power. Previously, these applications used less efficient off-the-shelf commercial servers or dedicated digital signal processing (DSP) devices that require long development cycles for upgrades. ADLINK’s MCS-2080 with high density and computing performance meets the challenge of cloud-based data processing with an improved cost-per-channel commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution based on Intel x86 processors.

“The MCS-2080 offers a cloud-friendly architecture and an application-ready intelligent platform to solution providers for video services,” said Yong Lo, general manager of ADLINK’s Networking, Communication and Public Business Unit. “The MCS series with Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1585 provides the best cost per channel ratio by using an integrated Intel® GT4e GPU and Intel® Media Server Studio middleware to improve video processing performance without the need for an extra GPU card. Instead, the integrated GPU handles video processing tasks, leaving CPU resources available to process analytics.”

The MCS-2080’s 2U, 19” industrial-grade design provides high availability with redundant and hot-swappable modules. Supporting sixteen independent systems, solution providers have the flexibility to arrange several different functions into one platform. Taking surveillance as an example, a Video Management System (VMS), Central Management System (CMS), and Video Surveillance System (IVS) can all be integrated together in one MCS-2080 server, easing management requirements and saving space in the server room.

ADLINK’s MCS-2080 is especially designed to support medium- to large-scale intelligent video management applications. The MCS-2080 leverages Intel® Quick Sync Video (GT4e GPU) and a middleware layer with the Intel® Media Server Studio (MSS) to implement hardware-assisted HEVC/H.265 video processing. The platform offers dual-redundant switches with sixteen 1G internal links and four 10G uplinks, as well as dual-redundant power supplies to meet industrial-grade design requirements. Eight PCIe x8 slots provide for scalable expansion of functionality. The MCS-2080 also supports the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 with Serial Over LAN (SOL) redirection and web-based management, and offers adaptive fan speed and intelligent power supply monitoring. Onboard storage is provided by mSATA slots supporting SSD modules up to 512GB.

The finalists of the Global CyberLympics competition, EC-Council Foundation’s worldwide hacking event, were officially announced. Finalists will travel to compete for the championship in The Hague, Netherlands at the world finals.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

Global CyberLympics is an online ethical hacking, computer network defense game, dedicated to finding the top computer network defense teams. Teams are made up of 4 to 6 players, and each round serves as an elimination round until only winning teams remain. The top eligible teams from each region are invited to play the game live in person at the world finals.

Competitors range from college students to professional organizations like Deloitte, KPMG, CISCO, and many more.

The best hacking teams on the planet have battled each other in an online single-elimination round to make it to the finals of the Global CyberLympics. Two teams from each region earned their spots in the finals:

The finalists from each region are as follows:

North America

First Place    Knightsec (United States)

Second Place    The Internet Explorerers (United States)

South America

First Place    H3x Pr0ph3ts    (Brazil)

Second Place    Proteus (Brazil)

Asia

First Place    KLHT     (Russia)

Second Place    Kansas City Shuffle (Russian Federation)

Australia

First Place    xHack.MDY=    (Australia)

Second Place    xHack.MDg=    (Australia)

Africa

First Place    Team BENIN    (Benin)

Second Place    #Thacket; (Morroco)

Europe

First Place    dotelite     (Netherlands)

Second Place    khack40 (France)

Last year’s world champions, Hack.ers of the Netherlands, receive an automatic invitation to the finals and will be onsite to defend their title. Competing as a guest team is calamity from China.

Each of the teams will travel to The Hague, Netherlands to compete in person at the Global Cyberlympics finals for the title of World Champion. The Finals will be held in conjunction with the Cyber Security Week hosted by Security Delta of The Hague. The week is a full week of Cyber Security events such as Interpole’s Cyber Warfare conference and EC-Council’s CISO Summit Netherlands.

According to Eric Lopez, Executive of the EC-Council Foundation, “The competition includes some capture the flag components like traditional hacking competitions, but Cyberlympics goes beyond the basics by providing challenges that span nearly all areas of IT security such as pen testing, forensics, malware, log analysis, system exploitation, physical security, etc.” Mr. Lopez went on to say, “The Global Cyberlympics is not solely focused on offense or defense but rather, it’s an all-encompassing approach allowing teams to compete with whatever cyber security strengths they bring to the competition.”

The Cyberlympics finals event is an 8-hour competition where the teams compete against each other in various cyber security challenges which are measured by submission of tokens. The three teams who submit the most tokens will be awarded medals at the awards ceremony, which will be held in atrium of the City Hall in The Hague and will be presented by the Mayor.

The finals and award ceremony will be recorded and aired by the TV show Champions du Monde, a documentary series that dives head-on into the most fascinating competitions around the world. The producers of the show, Quiet Motion, chose Cyberlympics for an episode because cyber competitors are growing in popularity as well as the fact that EC-Council Foundation’s competition is the only hacking game that is truly global.

All eyes will be on the two Dutch teams competing on their home turf. The top finisher in Europe, dotelite, is from Deloitte Netherlands. They will have to defeat the reigning world champions for the past several years, Hack.ers, also from the Netherlands, however, which has proven no easy feat for teams in the past.

Previous finals have been held in Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA, Barcelona, Spain, and Washington DC.

HX Modeling technology creates new possibilities for music production by providing the authentic sounds of guitar amps and cabinets, and myriad effects

Calabasas, CA. (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

Advancements in technology continue to change the way guitar music is recorded and then enhanced “in the mix.” The process keeps becoming faster and easier, while the possibilities for what’s achievable sonically are expanding. With the release of the Helix® Native guitar and effects plug-in the state of the art may well be hitting a new benchmark. Powered by HX Modeling technology—the same technology found in the Helix family of professional hardware guitar processors from Line 6—Helix Native is a complete guitar production tool that delivers new levels of authenticity.

Getting immediate access to sounds that capture the tone of classic and modern guitar gear—amps, pedals, speaker cabinets—is a challenge. Professional hardware equipment is often vintage, hard to find, difficult to maintain, and laborious to work with. Having a highly developed tech solution at your disposal is the desired endgame; you want to get all the tones without any of the hassles.

For use in the studio, Helix Native enables a fast and intuitive workflow that facilitates inspired tone creation. Requiring no additional processing hardware, HX Modeling leverages the computer’s built-in DSP power to recreate the dynamic sound and feel of 60+ amplifiers, 30+ speaker cabinets, and 100+ effects.

The guitar amp sounds in Helix Native were painstakingly designed to sound and respond like the originals they are modeled after. Line 6 engineers diligently measured and matched the circuitry of vintage and modern amplifiers to ensure the highest levels of accuracy, providing a diverse palette of responsive tones in a flexible, digital environment. Adding to that flexibility, Helix Native presets are compatible with Helix hardware, so guitarists can also perform live with the tones they craft for recording, and vice versa.

The Helix Native plug-in’s sonic possibilities, however, extend far beyond the scope of guitar. It’s a versatile and powerful tool for producers, engineers, sound designers, film/TV/game composers, electronic musicians, and anyone else who wants to add exciting new sounds and effects to their productions. A clear, clean, and informative UI makes it easy to manage even the most complex signal paths.

The plug-in’s high-quality vintage and modern effects can be used to enhance vocal performances, and also sound great on a wide range of instruments. The Helix Native plug-in also supports 3rd party impulse responses (IRs), offering even greater mixing flexibility.

The Helix Native plug-in features broad Digital Audio Workstation compatibility, offering 64-bit performance on AAX, AU, and VST3 platforms.

Now Available for Download [15-day free trial]

Institute at SLCC will include book publication techniques to more effectively address the needs of people with disabilities.

Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

Salt Lake Community College received $189,000 from the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) to host a Summer Institute in 2018 for College and University Faculty. The four-week Institute will explore how transformations in the book can change interactions between bodies of knowledge and individual human bodies, providing hands-on instruction for participants with digital and print text production in SLCC’s Publication Center.

“This grant is significant because it is only the second award SLCC has ever received from NEH, and not many community colleges receive these awards,” said Nicole Omer, director of SLCC’s Office of Sponsored Projects.

Approximately 25 participants will hear from renowned scholars from across the country, led by SLCC project leaders Melissa Helquist, Lisa Bickmore and Charlotte Howe. Participants will explore book history and explore new modes of publication, including techniques to more effectively address the needs of people with disabilities. The Institute will provide undergraduate Humanities faculty methods for incorporating book making and publishing into their curriculum. Part of the selection criteria for which faculty members from around the country will be evaluated in order to participate will be how well they can expect to it integrate what they learn into their teaching.

“While the grant includes universities, it will also provide enhanced development opportunities for community college faculty nationally and improve SLCC’s national visibility, “said Melissa Helquist, associate professor and director of the SLCC Community Writing Center. “The impact to students, albeit indirect, will be powerful.”

This award supports SLCC’s efforts to be more inclusive toward and improve access to higher education for underrepresented populations. It also supports SLCC’s mission to create educational pathways leading to meaningful employment. Participants will learn how to engage students using the Publication Center’s high-impact practices, which include hands-on opportunities for learning and development of workplace skills.

Salt Lake Community College is an accredited, student-focused, comprehensive community college meeting the diverse needs of the Salt Lake community. Home to more than 60,000 students each year, the College is Utah’s leading provider of workforce development programs. SLCC is also the largest supplier of transfer students to Utah’s four-year institutions and a perennial Top 10 college nationally for total associate degrees awarded. The College is the sole provider of applied technology courses in the Salt Lake area, with multiple locations, an eCampus, and nearly 1,000 continuing education sites located throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Personal attention from an excellent faculty is paramount at the College, which maintains an average class size of 20.

Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this release, do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

LendingTree selects ActiveProspect's TrustedForm product to independently certify internet leads for TCPA compliance.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 18, 2017

ActiveProspect, a SaaS provider of lead acquisition solutions, is partnering with LendingTree, the nation's leading online loan marketplace, to independently certify its web leads using ActiveProspect’s TrustedForm product.

With federal regulations, such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), companies are increasingly required to document proof of prior express written consent to contact consumers. TrustedForm protects companies from costly violations by providing the highest standard of independent proof of consent available. LendingTree is demonstrating continued corporate leadership by offering the opportunity for its lender network to utilize an independent third party for consumer consent verification and documentation.

International Workshop Programme: flexword Translators & Consultants starts a translator workshop in Novi Sad, Serbia

flexword opens its doors in Novi Sad, Serbia, to give students the opportunity to look behind the scenes of an international language service provider.

Mannheim, Germany (PRWEB) August 19, 2017

The international language service provider flexword Translators & Consultants based in Mannheim, Germany, is starting an international workshop programme for future translators. The first workshop will be held at flexword’s office in Novi Sad, Serbia. Students of philology will be given an in-depth look at translation processes and the latest technologies.

flexword DOO with its registered office in Novi Sad, Serbia, covers the region of Southeastern Europe and, within the flexword group, is in charge of the entire translation engineering section, among other things. From 2nd to 28th October 2017, flexword will be offering students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with translation management processes and technologies and give them a look behind the scenes of an international language service provider in a series of free, 2-week-long translator workshops in Novi Sad.

For more than a decade, flexword Translators & Consultants has offered students and graduates of translation studies months-long internships in which they can put their theoretical knowledge into practice. Now, this workshop programme is designed especially for students whose programmes or universities offer no or only very theoretical seminars in translation technologies and translation management. Moreover, in many countries, there are no special study programmes for translation at all. The goal of this workshop programme designed for students of linguistics is thus to give a larger number of students, also those at the start of their studies, practical insights into the translation industry with short-term programmes.

"We at flexword handle around 300 translation projects a month from many different areas – from automotive technology to commercial law to dentistry, etc. These are usually multilingual translations, for example into all languages of the European Union, which require very high technological competence in addition to linguistic competence. We increasingly offer the translators involved technical support in this as well. This shows us first hand what areas of translator training could be improved," says Goranka Miš-Čak, founder and Managing Director of flexword Translators & Consultants. In recent years, the language service provider has already successfully filled internship positions in the Mannheim and Jacksonville offices that often later led to employment or freelance positions. Now, flexword would like to expand this extremely positive experience with future translators.

In these workshops, the company with headquarters in Germany and offices in Serbia, the US and the UK offers students of philology not only insights into the technical standards for human and computer-aided translation, but more than 20 years of experience in language services. The flexword team in Novi Sad, Serbia, is the specialist in the flexword group for translation memory management, creating and managing multilingual terminology databases, translation engineering (text preparation and processing for the translation process), and the development of applications for standard translation management tools. The company would like to interest students and future translators in these areas in particular, because a detailed understanding of these important areas provides information about the translation process as a whole. The contents and quality of the workshops are the primary concern for flexword Translators & Consultants.

About flexword Translators & Consultants:

flexword Translators & Consultants, whose head office is in Mannheim, is one of Germany's leading professional language service providers. Its Managing Director, Goranka Miš-Čak, is a qualified translator, who founded the company in 1992. As such, flexword can provide translations exclusively from qualified mother-tongue specialists with many years of professional experience. flexword is a member of the British Chamber of Commerce, the "Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar" public-private partnership model and is also a training enterprise for the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
